Guangzhou Taihe Medical Humanities Research Education Fund
In order to vigorously promote the research and application of medical humanities in China, the School of Sociology and Anthropology of Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center jointly established a medical humanities research teaching base in 2016. Since then, an ongoing medical humanities research project will be held every November Annual report meeting.
The Guangzhou Taihe Cancer Hospital, which is committed to building a highland of medical technology and medical humanities, cooperated with Sun Yat-sen University to establish the "Guangzhou Taihe Medical Humanities Research and Education Fund" in 2018 to support young scholars to conduct research on medical humanities. It aims to promote interdisciplinary research in medicine and humanities and social sciences, develop the humanities of clinical medicine, harmonize doctor-patient relationships, and improve people's health. The fund encourages in-depth, field-based, and detailed data-based medical humanities research, and subsidizes students from major universities across the country (including master students, doctoral students, and senior undergraduates) with academic potential. Young faculty and staff carry out field researches related to medical humanities.
